TL;DR: Best Ring Per Seed
- Ghost Pepper & Soulbound Orchid → Outer ring only ($9,500,000/harvest at no mutation).
- Promise Lily → Outer ring (~$2,280,000/harvest; lower base but still outer-ring material).
- B-tier seeds (Watermelon, Blueberry, Peach, Corn, Cantaloupe) → Middle ring ($45k,$125k).
- C-tier starters (Carrot, Beetroot etc.) → Inner ring only until you can swap them out.
- Never fill an outer ring slot with a B-tier or C-tier seed: hold it empty if needed.

Build A Ring Farm Best Ring
Last updated June 13, 2026 · Update 4
Every seed in Build A Ring Farm earns a completely different amount depending on which ring zone it sits in. The outer ring applies a 19x sell value multiplier; the middle ring 5x; the inner ring 1x. This guide sorts all 14 seeds by ring-adjusted earnings so you can see instantly which ring is best: and how much income you leave on the table if you put the wrong seed in the wrong zone.
HOW RING MULTIPLIERS WORK
Ring Multipliers Explained
Build A Ring Farm uses three concentric zones, each with a fixed sell value multiplier applied at harvest:
| Zone | Multiplier | Intended Seeds | Ghost Pepper Earn/harvest |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inner Ring | 1x (baseline) | C-tier starters | $500,000 |
| Middle Ring | ~5x | B-tier mid seeds | $2,500,000 |
| Outer Ring | ~19x | S & A-tier seeds | $9,500,000 |
The jump is not linear. Moving from the middle ring to the outer ring is a 3.8x income boost for any seed. Moving from inner to outer is a full 19x. This asymmetry is why every experienced player says the same thing: unlock outer slots first, fill them with S-tier seeds, repeat.
Ring Decision Tree: Quick Reference
- Do you have a Ghost Pepper or Soulbound Orchid? → Outer ring. Full stop.
- Do you have a Promise Lily? → Outer ring. If outer is full, hold it and do not place in middle.
- Do you have an outer ring slot but no S/A-tier seed? → Leave it empty. A C-tier in an outer slot earns less than a B-tier in the middle ring.
- Do you have Watermelon, Blueberry, Peach, Corn, or Cantaloupe? → Middle ring.
- Do you have only starter seeds (Carrot, Beetroot, etc.)? → Inner ring until you earn enough to buy B-tier from the shop.

* Base prices: Ghost Pepper & Soulbound Orchid $500,000; Promise Lily $120,000; Watermelon $25,000; Blueberry $18,000; Peach $16,000; Corn $14,000; Cantaloupe $9,000; Carrot $1,200; Beetroot $1,100; Pumpkin $1,000; Wheat $900; Melon $800; Onion $750. No-mutation, no fertilizer baseline.
UPGRADE PRIORITY
Which Upgrade to Chase First
If you have limited in-game currency, here is the exact priority order based on income-per-slot math:
Priority 1: Unlock Outer Slots
+$9.5M/harvestEach outer slot filled with Ghost Pepper or Soulbound Orchid adds $9,500,000 per no-mutation harvest. This is the best spend in the game. Do this before anything else.
Priority 2: Get S-tier Seeds
$9.5M vs $2.28MAn outer slot with Ghost Pepper earns 4.2x more per harvest than an outer slot with Promise Lily. Farm or roll for S-tier seeds before spending outer slots on A-tier. Use Capybara pet to boost seed luck.
Priority 3: Fill Middle Ring
+$125K/harvestOnce every outer slot is claimed by an S or A-tier seed, start filling the middle ring with Watermelon ($125,000/harvest). It is the best B-tier earner and should be your default mid-ring crop.
Priority 4: Inner Ring Last
$1.2K/harvestInner ring earns so little that filling it with Carrot is mostly just habit. It will not move the needle until you have all outer and middle slots producing. Do not spend real effort here early.
The most common mistake is filling a newly unlocked outer slot with Watermelon because you "already have some." A Watermelon in the outer ring earns $475,000 per harvest: real money: but a Ghost Pepper in the same slot earns $9,500,000. Hold that outer slot until you can place an S or A-tier seed. The difference is $9,025,000 per harvest.
RING + MUTATION COMBOS
Best Ring + Best Mutation
The final harvest value formula is: base price × ring multiplier × mutation multiplier. Here is what Ghost Pepper earns in the outer ring at each mutation tier. These are the numbers that make the outer ring worth chasing.
| Mutation | Multiplier | Rarity | Ghost Pepper Outer Ring Earn | Soulbound Orchid Outer Ring Earn |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| None | 1x | , | $9,500,000 | $9,500,000 |
| Enhanced | 1.5x | Common | $14,250,000 | $14,250,000 |
| Gilded | 2x | Uncommon | $19,000,000 | $19,000,000 |
| Spectral | 3x | B-tier | $28,500,000 | $28,500,000 |
| Radiant | 4x | Rare | $38,000,000 | $38,000,000 |
| Transcendent | 5x | Epic | $47,500,000 | $47,500,000 |
| Cosmic | 8x | Legendary | $76,000,000 | $76,000,000 |
A Cosmic on an S-tier outer ring seed earns more per single harvest than most players make in a full play session without one. The outer ring is not a marginal upgrade: it is the entire game.

PLACEMENT RULES
Ring Placement Rules
- 🌶️ S-tier seeds belong in the outer ring, always. Ghost Pepper and Soulbound Orchid have a $500,000 base price. In the inner ring that is $500,000. In the outer ring that is $9,500,000. There is no scenario where an S-tier seed belongs anywhere except the outer ring.
- 🌺 A-tier seeds go outer if outer is available. Promise Lily earns ~$2,280,000 in the outer ring vs ~$600,000 in the middle ring. The outer ring is still 3.8x better for A-tier crops, so any available outer slot should have an S or A-tier seed.
- 🍉 B-tier seeds go middle ring. Watermelon earns $125,000 in the middle ring (5x) vs $475,000 in the outer ring: the outer ring is technically better, but Watermelon should never occupy an outer slot while S-tier seeds are still unplaced. Middle ring is its home.
- 🥕 C-tier seeds go inner ring. Carrot, Beetroot, Pumpkin, Wheat, Melon, and Onion are inner ring crops. They earn so little even in the outer ring that placing them there is a waste of a premium slot. Replace them as quickly as possible with B-tier crops from the shop.
- ⛔ An empty outer slot beats a wrong seed in an outer slot. If you have an unlocked outer slot and no S or A-tier seed to place there, leave it empty. Placing a C-tier seed wastes the slot and may psychologically anchor you to a suboptimal layout: better to see an empty slot and be reminded to fill it properly.
- 🔄 Fertilizer & sprays go on outer ring crops only. Both are single-use consumables. They have maximum ROI on an S-tier outer ring seed. Never use them on inner or middle ring crops.

FREQUENTLY ASKED
Best Ring FAQ
What is the best ring in Build A Ring Farm?
The outer ring (19x multiplier) is always the best ring for S-tier and A-tier seeds. Ghost Pepper and Soulbound Orchid earn $9,500,000 per no-mutation harvest in the outer ring versus $500,000 in the inner ring. For B-tier seeds like Watermelon, the middle ring (5x) is correct because outer slots should be reserved for higher-tier crops.
Which ring earns the most money?
Outer ring earns the most: its 19x multiplier means a Ghost Pepper that earns $500,000 in the inner ring earns $9,500,000 in the outer ring with no mutation. With a Cosmic mutation (8x), that outer ring slot generates $76,000,000 per harvest.
Should I put Watermelon in the outer ring?
No. Watermelon belongs in the middle ring. If you have an outer slot available, fill it with Ghost Pepper, Soulbound Orchid, or Promise Lily instead: a Watermelon in an outer slot earns $475,000 when that slot could earn $9,500,000 with an S-tier seed. The income gap is roughly 20x.
Is it worth upgrading to the outer ring?
Yes: unlocking outer ring slots is the single most impactful upgrade in Build A Ring Farm. Each new outer slot with an S-tier seed adds $9,500,000 per harvest at no-mutation baseline. That dwarfs any other upgrade you can make in the same currency range.
What seed should go in the outer ring first?
Ghost Pepper or Soulbound Orchid: both are S-tier with $500,000 base price. If you do not have either yet, Promise Lily is the next best outer ring choice. Do not fill a newly unlocked outer slot with a B-tier seed: either hold it empty or use a Capybara pet to improve your odds of rolling an S-tier seed from the seed machine.
What is the income difference between outer and middle ring?
The outer ring (19x) earns 3.8x more per harvest than the middle ring (5x) for any given seed. For Ghost Pepper: outer = $9,500,000 vs middle = $2,500,000. The multiplier gap alone is $7,000,000 per harvest per seed: on top of what mutations add.
Can I put C-tier seeds in the outer ring temporarily?
You can, but it is almost always wrong. A Carrot in the outer ring earns $22,800 per harvest: more than its $1,200 inner baseline, but far less than a Watermelon in the middle ring ($125,000). The outer slot opportunity cost is too high. Leave it empty until you have an S or A-tier seed.
How many outer ring slots are there?
The outer ring has multiple slots you unlock progressively through rebirth or in-game currency. Each new slot filled with Ghost Pepper adds $9,500,000 per harvest. See the Rebirth Guide for how rebirth interacts with ring slot unlocks.
