How Mutations Work
When you harvest a crop in Build A Ring Farm, there is a random chance it receives a mutation that multiplies its sell price. Mutations are applied independently per crop: you can get different mutations on different plants in the same harvest. The Cosmic mutation (8x) on an S-tier Ghost Pepper in the outer ring (19x multiplier) is one of the highest possible single-crop values in the game.
You cannot control which mutation a crop receives. The best strategy is maximise your crop value through ring placement and seed tier, then let the RNG work in your favour over many harvests.

How Mutations Roll & Whether They Stack

Here is the part most guides skip: that same Cosmic on a 1x inner-ring starter seed is barely worth screenshotting. The multiplier is identical, but it is multiplying a tiny number. Update 6 Mutations: What Changed
Update 6 (June 13, 2026) added one event-exclusive mutation and the Carnival Spray item. Here is what players need to know:
- ⚠️ Admin Abuse mutation (10x): the highest-multiplier mutation in the game. Available only during the Admin Abuse event window (Jun 13, 2:00 PM UTC to Jun 14, 10:00 AM UTC 2026). It is not in the standard mutation roll pool and cannot be obtained outside that window. If you missed it, it is gone unless the developer runs the event again.
- 🎪 Carnival Spray: added with Update 6. Applies a Carnival-themed boost to a crop before harvest. Like the Acid Spray and Autumn Spray from the codes, best used on your highest outer-ring seed rather than a starter crop.
- 🌱 New Eternal Seed Rolling: Update 6 also added Jackpot Rolling, Lucky Clover Rolling (see our Lucky Clover Rolling Calculator), and Eternal Seed Rolling. These affect which seeds you can roll, not mutation rates directly.
The six mutations in the standard roll pool (Enhanced through Cosmic) remain unchanged in Update 6. Only the event-exclusive Admin Abuse mutation was added to the mutation system.

How We Tested & Where These Numbers Come From
Every multiplier on this page is read straight from the live game, not guessed. We logged outer-ring harvests over a few play sessions: roughly 600 individual crop harvests on a maxed outer ring: and tallied which mutations showed up. That sample is where the “est. roll band” column comes from: Enhanced turned up on something like a quarter to a third of harvests, while across the whole log we saw only a handful of Cosmic rolls. We have written those as bands rather than exact percentages on purpose.
The reason for the hedging is honesty: the developer has never published official mutation odds, and a few hundred harvests is enough to rank the mutations by rarity but not enough to claim a precise drop rate. If anyone quotes you an exact “3.7% Cosmic chance,” they are inventing it.
